Editorial policy
Active Leisure Journal aims to publish clear, careful writing about recreational outdoor life. We distinguish explanation from opinion, avoid presenting uncertain details as settled, and make corrections when we find an error.
Accuracy and care
Writers should check factual claims against suitable sources and make the basis of a claim clear when context matters. We avoid unsupported statistics and do not imply that a personal preference is a universal answer. Readers should check current conditions and relevant guidance for their own plans.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial choices are made for reader relevance, not as a promise of favourable coverage. Material created with a commercial partner, or containing a paid placement, will be clearly labelled where it appears. A partnership does not change our responsibility to describe the material honestly.
Corrections and illustrations
If you spot a factual error, contact us with the page and the detail in question. We will review it and make a correction when appropriate. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when this applies, the illustration will be identified as AI-generated.
Outside time need not be a grand expedition
A familiar path, a quiet paddle or an evening under canvas can be enough. We focus on choices that help make outdoor leisure feel inviting and your own.
